Harold D. Creech

Harold Creech, 78, of Corbin, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Baptist Health Lexington. Born in Totz, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Delmer and Viola Creech. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, William Joseph Creech and David Earl Creech.
Harold graduated from Cumberland College and received his Master’s degree from EKU. He went on to teach English for 33 years in Harlan County Schools. He was also a U.S. Army veteran.
Harold was a member of Grace on the Hill United Methodist Church. There he was very active in and passionate about the church’s Food Pantry for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Loretta Nelson Creech whom he married on August 20, 1961; his son Alan Creech (Liz) of Lexington; four grandchildren: Katey Creech, Meaghan Reed (Nicholas), Conor Creech, and McKenzie Creech; and one great-grandson Liam Reed, all who mourn his passing.
Funeral Service will be at 7:00 pm on Monday, July 11, 2016, at Grace on the Hill with Rev. Tim Thompson and Rev. Weyman McGuire officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Monday at the church.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 12, in Cumberland, Kentucky at the Monte Vista Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Food Pantry at Grace on the Hill.
