Janice Vanover, 65, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Baptist Health in Corbin.
Born in Barbourville, she was the daughter of the late Roosevelt Thomas and Betty Turner Thomas. Janice was a member of Little Cain Creek Church of God and was a waitress for 20 years at the former Jerry's Restaurant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Eula Mae Brown, brothers Earl Ray Thomas, Carson Thomas, S.R. Thomas, L. D. Thomas, Noah Thomas, Elmer Thomas, and Roy Lee Thomas, and her son Shaune Logan.
Janice is survived by her husband Harold Vanover; she was Godmother to Braylei Gambrell; three brothers Troy Thomas (Kathy), Jimmy Thomas (Donna), and Taylor Thomas (Margaret); sister Lula Belle Storms (Donnie); and a host of nieces, nephews and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 4, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Frazier officiating. Burial will be in the Thomas Cemetery in Knox County.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 P.M. on Wednesday and 1:00-2:00 P.M. on Thursday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
