Johnny Grubb

Johnny Grubb, age 73, of Woodbine, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Baptist Health in Corbin.


Born in Louisville, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Coy Grubb Sr. and Eva Pearl Taylor Grubb. Johnny was a retired carpenter and loved old cars, wrestling, and watching the Price is Right. Johnny was a US Army veteran having served in Vietnam.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Coy Grubb Jr., Harlan Grubb, Jack Grubb, Evelyn Davidson, and Pollie Smith.


Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Janie Grubb, children, Johnny Grubb Jr., Eva Grubb, Troy Grubb, and Adam Grubb, 19 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, siblings, Bobbie Cales, Betty Gibson, and Della Wagers, and by numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.


Visitation will be from 12-2pm on Friday November 3, 2023, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Military honors will be at 2pm on Friday at the funeral home.


In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted to help with funeral expenses. To make a donation, please call or stop by Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, or you may select the Tribute Fund icon to make your online donation. The family will be given a list of all who have helped the family.
