Stella Mae Hicks

Stella M. Hicks, age 74, of Gray, Kentucky, passed away on Friday October 27, 2023, at Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation.

Born in Hazard, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Estill Combs and Isabella Combs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Dillard Hicks and Ernie Wilson, daughter, Peggy Sue Coghill, grandson, Jonathan J. Hicks, and by her siblings, Imogene Baker, Melody Marie Campbell, and Ella Sizemore.

Stella is survived by her children, Joann Coghill (Harold), John Lawson (Rhonda), and Isabella Hicks (Verlon), grandchildren, James McDaniel, Bobbie Combs, Dexter J. Hicks, Joseph Hicks, John Robert Lawson, Maranda Baker, and Erica Lawson, 14 great grandchildren, siblings, Mitchell Sizemore, Paul Sizemore, Thomas Faye Sizemore, and Polly Parks, and by several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation for Stella Hicks will be from 6-9pm on Monday October 30, 2023, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Her funeral service will then be held at 1pm on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the Vankirk Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Roots Branch Cemetery in Manchester, KY.
