Allen 'A.J.' Martin

Allen "A.J." Martin, age 72, of Corbin, passed away at his home on Tuesday, December 3, 2013.
Born in Whitley County, he was the son of the late Everett Martin and Flora Taylor Martin Sizemore. He had been a conductor with CSX Railroad and was a member of Barton Chapel Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Steve Allen Martin; two brothers, Ova "Buddy" Martin and Eunice Martin; and by a sister, Wilma Young.
He is survived by his wife, Renate Martin; son, Steve "Bo" Martin and wife Denise of Corbin; daughters: Ellen Huddleston and husband Clifford of Williamsburg; Robin Mahan and husband Mike of Corbin; Tammy Copeland and husband John of Lexington; and Tonya Alsip of Corbin; 12 grandchildren; great-grandson, Blake Allen Martin; brother, Harold Martin and wife Lorene of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters: Joyce McKendrick and husband Charles of Williamsburg, and Doris Reeves and husband Jerry of Corbin; numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends, all who mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be at 2pm Saturday, Dec. 7, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Lonnie Godsey and Rev.John Mills officiating. Burial will be in the Bingham Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lewis Young, Junior Martin, Charles Martin, Jerry Martin, Bobby Martin, and Allan Reeves.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm on Friday, Dec. 6, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
