Alma Hamblin

March 1, 1917 — September 14, 2003

Alma Hamblin, 86, of Rooks Branch Road, Keavy, was born March 1, 1917 in Perry County to John and Drusiller Begley Couch. She was a homemaker and attended the North Corbin Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Herbert Hamblin Sr. and by several sisters and brothers. She was the last surviving family member from her generation.
She is survived by six sons: J.G. Hamblin and his wife Judy of Corbin, Herbert Hamblin and his wife Joyce of Keavy, Dewey Hamblin and his wife Laurie of Lexington, Moses Hamblin and his wife Evelyn of Keavy, Roy Hamblin and his wife Lola of London, and Charles Hamblin and his wife Debbie of Keavy. Also surviving are five daughters: Zola Mattingly of Keavy,  Lou Ellen Hall and her husband Hubert, Opsy Pennycuf, Nora Lewis and her husband Ed, all of Somerset; and Peggy Pope and her husband Roy of London; 22 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren also survive.
