Andy Roberts

Andy Roberts, age 97, of Corbin, formerly of Gray, passed away Saturday, June 25, at Baptist Regional Medical Center. Born in Hammons Fork, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Beige Roberts and Maggie Smith Roberts. He was of the Pentecostal faith and had operated a general store in Gray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie; and children, Chester, Lester, Codell, Avenill, Glend, Kenneth and Shirl Roberts. He is survived by daughters, Anna Mae Lewis, Geraldine Childers and husband Jim, Betty Davis, Carolyn Roberts, Linda Thorpe and husband Bob, Peggy Engle and husband Troy, and Susie Cornett and husband Jim; sons, James Roberts, Arthur Roberts and wife Rita, Johnny Roberts, Harold Roberts and wife Hildred, David Roberts, and Kiley Adkins and wife Stacey; and by over 300 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren plus a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm on Monday, June 27, 2011 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Gray Cemetery.
