Anna Pearl Brasel

Anna Pearl Parker Brasel, age 87, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013 in Orange Park, Florida.
Born in Corbin, she was the daughter of the late Everett Parker and Nicie Brock Parker. Anna worked in a sewing factory part of her life, then went back to college at Sue Bennett College with her son Travis. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Cumberland College, a Master's Degree from Union College, and took classes beyond her Master's to achieve Rank One teaching status. She attended First Baptist Church in Corbin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ora Travis Brasel, Sr. in 1990; son, Glennis Timothy Brasel in 1996; daughter-in-law, Kay Brasel; siblings: Paul Parker, Ray Parker, Bill Parker, Sam Parker, Martha Parker Farris, and James Parker; sisters-in-law: Anna Lee Parker (wife of Bill) and Wanda Parker (wife of James).
She is survived by her son, Ora Travis Brasel, Jr. and fiancée Susie of Orange Park, Florida; siblings: Claude Parker and wife Marjorie and George Parker and wife Betty, all of Louisville; sisters-in-law: Inez Parker (widow of Paul), Ruby P. Craig of Corbin (widow of Ray), and Jean Parker (widow of Sam); brother-in-law, Jay L. Farris (widower of Martha); grandchildren: Ora Travis Brasel III, Charles Timothy Brasel and wife Annie, and Roseanna Caroline Brasel; and great-grandchildren: C.J. Brasel and Austin K. Brasel.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 13th, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Dr. Phil Majors officiating. Burial will be in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, July 12th, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
