Arthur Roberts, 75, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, in Oak Ridge.
Born in Barbourville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Andy and Maggie Smith Roberts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Laura Jean Rubino and her husband Joseph; and his siblings Chester, Lester, Codell, Avenill, Glen, Kenneth, and Shirl Roberts.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Roberts, whom he wed on October 19, 1957; children: Sandra Lee Strickland and husband Dwayne, Karen Churchill and husband Fred, Catherine Ellen Harrison, Douglas Wayne Roberts and wife Renee, Nancy "Candy" Harris and husband John, and Barbara Elaine Roberts; grandchildren: La Donna McPeters and husband Michael Paul, Arthur Keener and wife Jaime, Tim Keener, Dwayne Strickland and wife Esther, Cassandra Duncan and husband James, Joseph Rubino and wife Tabitha, Jenifer Harris, and Kaylea Warwick; seven great-granddaughters; and siblings: Anna Mae Lewis, Geraldine Childers, Betty Davis, Carolyn Roberts, Linda Thorpe and husband Bob, Peggy Engle and husband Troy, Susie Cornett and husband Jim, Jay Roberts, Johnny Roberts, Harold Roberts and wife Hildred, David Roberts, and Kiley Adkins and wife Stacey.
Funeral service will be at 2pm on Saturday, June 14, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Farmer officiating. Burial will be in the Gray Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5-9 pm and on Friday from 2-9 pm at the funeral home.
