Artis Ray Ketron Sr., age 74, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Tuesday February 21,2023, at the VA Medical Center in Lexington, KY.
Born in Whitley County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late John and Elvie Taylor Ketron. Artis was a proud veteran of the US Army where he made it his career to serve his country in many tours to Vietnam. He was also a faithful member of Parkway Ministries where he loved to serve the Lord. During his retirement he served many roles in the local VFWs around the area.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Flora Bingham, a brother-in-law, Floyd Bingham, and a great grandson, Alexander Earls.
Artis is survived by his wife, Betty Ketron of Corbin, his children, Angela Perry (Allen) of Keavy, Tammy Ball (Darrell) of Williamsburg, Artis Ketron Jr. of Corbin, and Casey Profitt of Corbin; grandchildren, Ashley Jarboe, Joshua Bignell, Ryan Ball, Jaxon Profitt, Kaitlyn Ball and Megan Ball; great-grandchildren, Collin Leizear, Isabella Carter, Jaida'Lyn Bignell, Alexis Earls, Eleanor Ball, and a host of nieces and nephews, friends and family to mourn his passing.
Visitation will be from 11-1 pm on Saturday February 25, 2023, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will be held at 1pm. with Rev Billy Carpenter officiating.
Burial will follow in the Chappell Cemetery in Keavy KY. with Military Honors by Keavy DAV.
