Audrey Aileen Mullins Norvell was born on December 22, 1929, in Watch, KY, she was a woman of faith, joy, and boundless energy. After 95 beautiful years, she left this world on February 14, 2025.
Audrey was a devoted member of Lynn Camp Baptist Church since the age of 14, and her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. As Proverbs 31:25 says, "She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come." Audrey was a homemaker, but she was so much more. She was a talented gardener who could make anything grow, but her true passion was for flowers. Their beauty and vitality were a testament to Audrey's nurturing spirit and love for the natural world. Audrey was also a self-taught pianist, and the beautiful melodies she played were a testament to her determination and love for music. As an avid fan of the University of Kentucky's basketball and football teams, Audrey's spirit and enthusiasm were infectious, lighting up any room she was in. But most of all she enjoyed being with her family, her children and grandchildren were her treasures here on earth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Kenneth Norvell; son, Paul Madison Norvell; parents, Edmund and Lottie Trosper Mullins; brother, Ralph Mullins; and by her sisters, Lois Helton and Faye Burke. Audrey is survived by her children, Alice Tooley (Rev. Jerry), Gary Norvell (Shelia), Joan Norvell, and Mark Norvell (Brenda); daughter-in-law, Kim Norvell; grandchildren, Kevin Norvell (Deva), April Hudson (David), Angela Murphy (Russell), Meredith Maddox (Brandon), Kasey Cox, Audra Swearingen (Mike), Matthew Norvell (Ellen), and Bill Cox (Kristin); 14 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Ilene Rogers; and by several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
