Bettie Sue Ellison

Bettie Sue Ellison, 78, of Lily, passed away Saturday, December 26, 2019 at her home. She was born on November 17, 1941 to the late Walter and Catherine Codell Bates. She was a member of New Zion Ministries, was a firm believer in God, and read her bible daily. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Ellison; son, Johnny Jones; grandson, Timmy Cooper; sister, Shirley Gray; and brother, Kenneth Bates. Bettie is survived by her three children, Kenneth F. Cooper (Gisela), Leland Hubbard (Dora), and Geneva Robinson (Denny); grandchildren, Tammy Kniese, Tiffany Cooper, Julia Hubbard, Jeremiah Hubbard, Aubrey Hubbard, Staci Eaton, and Sarah Robinson; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Keith Bates; and other friends and relatives to mourn her passing. Funeral service for Bettie Sue Ellison, will be held at 10am Saturday, December 28, 2019 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Harris Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at the Owsley Cemetery in Lily.
A visitation period for Bettie will be held from 6-8pm on Friday evening, December 27, 2019 at the funeral home.
