Betty Dizney Black

November 2, 1920 — June 11, 2018

Betty Dizney Black, 97, the widow of John Bill Black and the daughter of Scott and Hazel Dizney, passed away June 11, 2018 in Federal Way, Washington.
Corbin is where she was born on November 2, 1920. She graduated from High School, married John Bill and with him raised Bill and Debbie.
Along the way, she served the community through many PTA positions as well as supporting all the sports and band activities in which Bill and Debbie were involved.  First Baptist Church also benefited from her inability to say  ‶no″… Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School director, and many positions of the WMU Board.  She was honored to become one of the first Women Deacons at First Baptist in 1988.
Betty will be missed by her children  Bill Black and Debbie Lasko (Glenn);  grandchildren Ben Lasko and  Emma Lasko Carroll (Rob); her sister-in-law Joyce Dizney (late husband Allen); and nephew Curt Dizney and his family.  She had many great friendships over her 97 years, but always had a special place in her heart for the Winchester family (Jerry, Nell, Paul and JeNell).
Funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm  on Saturday, June 16, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Austin Carty officiating. Burial will be in the Rest Haven Cemetery in Corbin.
The family will receive friends from 2:30 pm Saturday until the funeral at 4:00pm at the funeral home.
