Betty Jean French

Betty Jean French, age 91, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at Baptist Health Corbin.

She was born in Piney Grove in Laurel County, Kentucky on March 2, 1932, to the late

Clarence and Susie Petrey Shepherd.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Russell "Mickey" Garner French,

daughter, Deana Kay Storms, and sister, Lucille Tucker.

She is survived by her son, Steven French, granddaughter, Jessica (Shawn) Thurston, grandson Zachary Storms, son-in-law Robert Lee Storms Jr., great-granddaughter's, Reagan Whitaker, Audrey Becher, nephew Nick Tucker, special friends Sharon and Dean Johnson, and several cousins and friends to mourn her passing.

Betty was a member of Central Baptist Church. In years past she worked at French's Shoe store, Betty also loved to collect recipes. Driving a school bus for 30 years, Betty made many relationships with her riders and their families.

Visitation for Betty will be held at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home on Friday, December 29,2023, from 2 p.m.- 4 p.m. with the Funeral service to follow at 4 p.m. with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton officiating.

Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery with Robert Storms, Kyle Brock, Sean Becher, Nick Turner, Zachary Storms and Michael Tye serving as pallbearers.
