Betty June Abner, 66, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation.
Born in Whitley County, she was the daughter of the late Roy Parks, Sr., and Ethel Pennington Parks. She was a homemaker and a member of the Greenland Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garnett Ray Abner; grandparents: Link and Lettie Pennington and Frank and Lizzie Parks; brother, Roy Parks, Jr.; sister, Phyllis Parks; nephew, Glenn Ray Peace; and brother-in-law, Bobby Peace.
She is survived by her daughter, Thelma Jean Scott and husband Jason of Corbin; sister, Thelma Louise Hensley and husband Charles of Corbin; grandchildren: Austin Scott, Jacob Scott, and Kaleb Scott; niece, Lisa Eistein of Plantation, Florida; nephew, Kenneth Park of Lexington; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who mourn her passing.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, Feb. 13th, at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily where burial will follow with Rev. Delmon Sizemore officiating.
There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help with funeral expenses.
