Billie Lee Parker

Billie Lee Parker, age 84, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at Baptist Health Corbin.

Born in Monroe County, NC, she was the daughter of the late George and Leola Johnson Brown.

Billie found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved flowers, their vibrant colors and varied fragrances filling her home and heart with peace and contentment. She was an avid bird watcher, finding beauty in their freedom and variety. Billie also had a fascination for genealogy, tracing her roots through the generations. However, what mattered most to Billie was spending time with her family and friends. Their happiness was her joy, their sorrows her pain. Her love was as boundless as her generosity, making every moment with her a cherished memory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Georgianna Jackson, and nephew, Joel Brown, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Bobby Parker (Patsy) of Rockholds, KY, K.D. Parker of Corbin, KY, Curt Parker of Rockholds, KY, and Paula Grubb (Rick) of Rockholds, KY; brother, Joel Brown (Patsy) of Hammond, IN, and adopted son, Dale Lewis. She was Nannie to, Amanda Hubbs, (Frank), Kellie Carter (Michael), Robert Parker (Krystin), Tarrah Perkins, Hannah Parker, Jacob Parker, Lucas Grubb, and Logan Grubb; great-grandchildren, Kiley, Everly, Emmerson, and Georgia. She is also survived by her best friend, Donna Rains; brothers-in-law, Larry Parker (Peanut), Nick Parker (Rose Marie), and Bill Parker (Kathryn); and by a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 pm on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the funeral home with Rev. Vernon Jones officiating.

Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Slusher Cemetery in Rockholds, KY, with Robert Parker, Jacob Parker, Carlie Parker, Ben Parker, Cody Jackson, and Jerry Rains serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers: Lucas Grubb, Logan Grubb, and Daniel Parker.
