Billy Leon Parrott

Billy Leon Parrott, 84, of Gray, passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, at Baptist Health Corbin.
Born in Knox County, Kentucky, Leon was the son of the late Odus Parrott and Sudie Jane Trosper Parrott. He was an Elder at Richland Christian Church and was a United States Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict era. He had worked as a self-employed carpenter and as a rural mail carrier.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Alma Jeanette Garland Parrott and second wife Wilma Jean Shipman Parrott; and siblings Jack Parrott, Ann Parrott Smith, Eva Parrott Parkinson, Irene Parrott Zotkiewicz, Silas Parrott, and P. L. Parrott.
Leon is survived by five children: Teresa Parrott Martin, Tammy Parrott Wine, Tim Holbrook, Lisa Adams, and Susie Howard; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters: Doris Parrott McCreary, Lela Parrott Farmer, Patricia Parrott Abner, Carolyn Parrott Lewin, and Sharon Parrott Updyke; and brother David Parrott; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 15, 2016, at the Richland Christian Church with Bro. Lucian Estridge and Bro. Barry Farris officiating. Burial will follow in the Clouse Cemetery with military graveside honors by DAV Chapter 158 of Keavy.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-9:00 P.M. on Thursday at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, and after 12 Noon on Friday at the Richland Christian Church.
