Cara Elizabeth Parker Parulekar, 58, of Corbin Kentucky, passed away on June 3rd, 2023, after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Cara (Liz) was born on July 29th, 1964, to Roland Ray Parker and Marilyn Saylor Parker-Felts in Corbin, Kentucky.
After graduating from Corbin High School in 1983, she went on to study Cosmetology at the, 'Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology'.
She then proceeded on to working at 'Reflections Beauty Shop' in Corbin. She met and married her husband, moved to Florida and then to Michigan where she studied Creative Writing at the University of Michigan
Cara (Liz) was preceded in death by her Father; Roland Ray Parker, Sr., Her two brothers; Michael Lee and Roland Ray Jr., Her paternal grandparents; Cecil and Virgil Parker, her maternal grandparents; Rose and Lee France.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years; Nikhil Sharad Parulekar, her mother and step-father; Sherley Thomas and Marilyn Saylor Felts, two sisters; Tammy Kay Russell (Phillip), Rose Ann Smith (Terry), A brother; David Nathan Parker; A special Aunt; Mildred Ann Saylor Moore, Special nieces; Suzanne Smith Eaton (Rob); Kendra Russell Arthur (Matthew) of Indiana, Mariah Cecilia Parker, Shyanne Jewel Parker. A special nephew; Phillip Anthony Russell (Tracey) of Somerset, Ky. A special family friend; Geraldine Mosley Wells of Corbin. Her beloved dog; Gypsy Belle, and a host of other family members and friends.
A few of Cara's (Liz's) passions included; cleaning and organizing, decorating her home, writing, cosmetology and her pets.
Cara ( Liz ) was a very charismatic person who brought laughter to many. The room lit up whenever she walked in.
Visitation will be from 1pm - 3pm on Thursday June 8, 2023, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be held at 3pm with Rev. Bobby Joe Eaton Officiating.
Burial will follow in Felts Chapel Cemetery in Corbin, KY.
