Carl Edward Ellison

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.

Carl Edward Ellison, was born on September 15, 1953, and departed this life on Thursday August 15, 2024, being 70 years and 11 months of age.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cheslie Ellison and Virginia Martin Ellison; brothers, Virgil Ellison and wife Joyce, Bill Ellison and wife Theresa; and sister, Shirley Ellison Cole; and by the loss of his dearest pet companion, Briley.

Carl is survived by his loving wife, Cindy Ellison; daughters, Carla Ellison Joseph (Travis) of London, Hope Ellison Rogers (Shawn) of Corbin, and Ashlee Stewart (Derek) of Lexington; five grandchildren, Jacob Unthank, Cheslee Joseph, Carson Rogers, Carissa Rogers, and Skyler Stewart; dear friends, Roger Caldwell, Richard Cox, and by his faithful canine companion, Jo-Jo; he is also mourned by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family members.

Visitation will be on Saturday August 17, 2024, from 11 am until 2 pm at Dorthe Pentecostal Church in Corbin, where his funeral service will be held at 2pm with John Snyder and Billy Ellison officiating.

Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, Kentucky. Pall bearers will be Jacob Unthank, Tanner Davis, Dale Tolliver, Billy Ellison, Anthony Ellison, and Paul Stepp.

Arrangements by the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home in Corbin, Kentucky.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Helping Hands Food Pantry Ministry at Dorthae Pentecostal Church.
