Carl Lee Van

Carl Lee Van, age 54, of Corbin, passed away on Tuesday May 18, 2021 at Baptist Health in Corbin after a courageous and long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Monis Van and Mary "Una" Humfleet Van. A strong, independent, and loving husband, dad, and papaw, he is survived by his wife, Lisa Owens Van; children, Britney Christophel (William III), Rachel Van and fiance Freddie Tallant, and Carl "CJ" Van Jr.; grandchildren, Markese Van, Elija Christophel, Nadalie Rains, Olivia Rains, and Kylee Christophel; siblings, Betty Helton (David), Lynn Van (Glenna), Delmer Van (Teresa), and Shirley Mayne (Bruce); mother in law, Darlene Lawson; and by numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will mourn his passing. Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Saturday May 22, 2021 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. John Laws and Rev. Ronnie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Dugger Cemetery with family and friends serving as pall bearers Visitation will be from 6-8pm on Friday May 21st at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
