Carl Dorman Lickliter, age 86, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at his home in Corbin.
Born in Bryants Store, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Cleo Lickliter and Elizabeth Eversole Lickliter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 1/2 years, Glenda B. Lickliter in 2018; grandchildren, Lane Lickliter, Brett Lickliter, and William Williams; and by a brother, Herman Lickliter.
Carl was a Member and Deacon at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Corbin, where he taught Sunday School for over 30 years. A hard worker, he also enjoyed his church, fishing, and hunting, but it was his family that he loved the most.
He is survived by his children, Nancy Simpson (Ken), Teresa Gregory (Steve), Carl Lickliter Jr. (Melinda), Robbie Lickliter (Becky), and David Lickliter (Lisa); grandchildren, Kenneth Simpson (Tori), Cameron Simpson (Tina), Sarah Elliott (Jeremy), Megan Gambrel (Robert), Matthew Lickliter (Jessica), Whitley Pleasant (Shawn), Harper Lickliter, Chelsey Lickliter, Rebekah Lickliter, Shelby Lickliter, and Chloe Lickliter; great grandchildren, Sawyers Simpson, Denver Williams, Liam Lickliter, Makenna Williams, Jonah Lickliter, and Bryer Pleasant; sister, Sharon Ohler.
Visitation for Carl Dormon Lickliter will be on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 6-9 pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, and on Friday, October 4, 2024, from 1 pm until the time of his funeral service at 2 pm at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church in Corbin with Rev. Keaton Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in the Lickliter Cemetery. Pall bearers will be Kenneth Simpson, Cameron Simpson, Matthew Lickliter, Mike Ohler, Alex Housley, and Kenneth Proffit.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Liberty Chruch Missionary Baptist Church Building Fund
