Carl Wayland Smith

Carl Wayland Smith, age 88, departed this life on November 16, 2012, at Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.
He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II.
Carl was preceded in death by his Parents, Rufus and Verdie Ohler Smith and by his three Brothers, Elvin, Edwin, and Arthur Eugene Smith.
He is survived by his Wife, Virginia Iona Smith; Daughter, Kathy Hendrickson and husband Bobby Sr.; Grandsons, Bobby Hendrickson Jr. and Tyler Hendrickson; Aunt Lela Brooks; and by several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2012, from 1pm until 2:30pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
Graveside service will then be held at 3pm at the Lynn Camp Cemetery in Corbin with Bro. Bob Lockhart officiating.
Pall Bearers will be Bobby Hendrickson Sr., Bobby Hendrickson Jr., Tyler Hendrickson, Randall Smith, Blane Kretzer, Jerry Mason, Shannon Sams, and Jimmy Hendrickson.
Honorary Pall Bearers will be Mitch Topolsky, Dell Sams, Bryan Tye, Bobby Gray, David Howard, John Eaton; as well as, all City Workers of Corbin and the Members of the Corbin Fire Department.
