Carmen R. Brewer

Carmen R. Brewer, 87, of Christian Health Center in Corbin, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born in Laurel County, she was the daughter of the late Charles N. Brewer and Margaret Chesnut Brewer. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and had been owner and operator of Carmen's Beauty Shop.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gene Brewer and Charles Don Brewer; sister, Kathleen Brewer; niece, Rebecca Brewer Topolsky; and nephew, Charles Donnie Brewer.
She is survived by her brother, Dennis Doyle Brewer and wife Thelma of Corbin; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Brewer and Maxine Campbell Brewer; nieces and nephew, Denise Brewer Lanham and husband Randy, Michael Brewer and wife "Winkie", and Teresa Brewer Lundy and husband Kenneth; nine great-nieces and great-nephews; five great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, all who loved her as a special aunt and grandmother figure; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm Friday, April 4, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Jasper officiating. Burial will follow in the Laurel River Cemetery.
The family of Carmen S. Brewer will receive friends from 6-9 pm Thursday at the funeral home.
