Carolyn Jody Lawson

Carolyn Jody Lawson, age 75, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital in London, Kentucky.

Born in Keavy, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Speed Barton and Lottie Jean Higginbotham Barton.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Eugene Lawson; and by her brothers, William Eddie Barton and Woodrow Barton.

She is survived by her sons, Timothy Lee Lawson and Richard Sim Lawson; sister, Irene Engle (Frank); grandsons, Treinty Herman Lee Lawson, Bryce James Eugene Lawson, and Aiden Richard Lawson; companion, Jerry Morgan; and by several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.  Her funeral service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with Bro. Maverick Helton and Bro. Daniel Wyatt officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sutton-Pemberton Cemetery.  Serving as pall bearers will be Timothy Lawson, Richard Lawson, Jerry Morgan, Ricky Johnson, Arnold Marsee, Maverick Helton, and Daniel Wyatt.
