Carolyn Mae Ely

Carolyn Mae Martin Ely, age 73, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday December 28, 2023, at the Heritage in Corbin.

Born in Laurel County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Ova "Budd" Martin and Ella Faye Roaden Martin. Carolyn was an active member of Dorthae Pentecostal Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James "Roy" Ely, and by a sister, Jeannie Taylor.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Jeffrey Roy Ely, grandchildren, Channing Price (Jordan), and Jocie Hamblin (Isaiah), great grandchildren, Madden Hamblin, Joplin Price, and Elsie Hamblin, great great niece, Piper Volter who she cared for as a daughter, siblings, Robert Eugene "Bobby" Martin (Terrie), Jerry Glenn Martin (Dee), and Brenda Eldridge (Danny), and by several nieces and nephews and by many other family, friends, and by her church family.

Visitation will be from 1-3pm on Sunday December 31, 2023, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be held at 3pm with Rev. Billy Evans and Rev. Ronnie Smith officiating.

Burial will follow in the Worley Cemetery in Corbin, KY.
