Carolyn "Nanio" Wilder Brewer, age 68, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2011, at the Rockcastle Regional Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
Born in Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Wilder and Myrtle Carmack Haggard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings, Inez Helton, Juanita Wilson, Patricia Monday, and Robert Lee Chappell.
She is survived by six Children, Sharlet Gibbs and husband James, Jerry Brewer and wife Heidi, Mary Carnes, Rose Istre and husband Darren, Vandora Belew and husband Floyd, and Myrtle Brewer; Grandchildren, Vicki and James Gibbs and Tina Wallace, Hannah and Zachary Brewer, Johnathan, Joshua, Jeremy and Myranda Carnes, Arielle and Ciara Istre, Rachael and Jacob Belew, and Deavon Scalf; Great-grandchildren, Devan Stines, Tristan and Kamryn Gibbs, Britain Wallace, Tyler Collett, Regan Carnes, and Camila Belew; Siblings, Marian Hagy, Coretta Brewer, Jean Rains, Isaac "Jr." Wilder, June Burkhart, Joan Anderson, Judy Greis, and Tresa Haggard.
Funeral service will be held at 1pm Thursday, April 21, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Helton officiating. Burial will be in the Brafford Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Wednesday, April 20, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, 607 Master Street, Corbin, KY.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help with the funeral expense.
