Carrie Anne Abbott

Carrie Anne Abbott, age 55, of Corbin, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday March 12, 2024, at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Center in Hazard, Kentucky.

She was born in Somerset, Kentucky and had worked as a Teachers Aid for fifteen years at Corbin Primary School. In addition to her work as a teachers aid; she was a homemaker who loved her family, especially spending time with her grandkids. Carrie was an avid fan of the Corbin Red Hounds and the Kentucky Wildcats.

Carrie was preceded in death by a nephew, Braxton Gilmore and a beloved bonus son, Nick Mills.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Abbott; her parents, Henry and Thelma Gilmore; her children, Jacob Abbott (Brittany), Dalton Abbott (Shelby), and Josh Abbott (Gabrielle Jackson); brothers, Kenny Gilmore (Tiffany), and Brian Gilmore; sister-in-law, Stephanie Gilmore; and by her grandchildren, Jax, Ryver, and Kingsley Anne.

Visitation for Carrie Abbott will be on Sunday March 17, 2024, from 12-3pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be at 3pm on Sunday.

Burial will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery in Keavy.
