Mrs. Cecil Parsley Ramsey, 101, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, March 21, at the Christian Health Center. She was born on September 12, 1902 in Wilton, Kentucky to the late Sam and Nannie Sulfridge Parsley.
Mrs. Ramsey was a homemaker and a member of the Woodbine Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ova Ramsey; two brothers John and Roy Parsley; two sisters Flora and Myrtle Parsley; and by a grandson Steve Schnelle.
Survivors include one son, Charles Ramsey and wife Opal of Louisville; seven daughters, Jean Sutton of Corbin, Alma Givens and husband Roy of Corbin, Blanche Rogers of Corbin, Joann Schnelle of Cincinnati, Shirley Henderson and husband Earl of Corbin, Wanda Alsip and husband Everett of Milford, Ohio, and Glenda Eaton and husband James of Corbin; one sister, Alma Ward of Corbin; 26 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 pm Wednesday, March 24, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home chapel with Brother David Legg officiating. Burial will follow at the Lynn Camp Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Tuesday at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
