Cecilia Acob

Cecilia Ceballos Acob, age 87, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022, at Baptist Health, Corbin.

Born in Iloilo, Philippines, Cecilia eventually settled in Kalilangan, Bukidnon where she was a successful pharmacist and businesswoman owning a pharmacy chain named after her daughter, Cheryl. She immigrated to the United States to join her children and settled in Corbin, KY. She is an accomplished pianist and loves playing a good mahjong game.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Dr. Alexander Acob Sr.; children Dr. Cheryl Sarmiento (Emil), Charmaign Pe BSN,RN (Edwin), Engr. Alexander Acob Jr. (Arlyn), Dr. Christine Acob-Esguerra (Dennis), and Dr. Arden Acob (Cristina). She is a beloved grandmother to Dr. Angelo Sarmiento (Sarah Mae), Adrian Acob, Alistair Acob, Dylan Esguerra, and Alexys Acob; and sister to Jose Ceballos.

In addition to her parents Marciano and Sophia Ceballos, she was preceded in death by her son Adrian Agustine Acob and siblings Felixberto and Judith Ceballos.

There will be a private viewing for the immediate family.

A memorial mass in her honor will be officiated by Father Damian Anumba on Tuesday November 29, 2022, at 6 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 703 Master St. Corbin, KY.

In lieu of flowers, donations benefiting the residents of Williamsburg Nursing Home will be appreciated. Checks can be written to the Williamsburg Nursing Home and please indicate that it is for their activity fund in memory of Cecilia Acob. This can be mailed to 287 N. 11th St. Williamsburg, KY 40769.
