Charles "Chuck" Gambrell

Charles "Chuck" Gambrell, a beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024, at his home in Corbin, KY. 

Born on September 5, 1959, in Louisville, Kentucky, Chuck led a fulfilling life as a dedicated mechanist at CSX railroad. He was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Corbin, especially with the youth. He was a leader of Group 99-1451, where he was known to most as "Papaw Chuck"

His memory will forever be cherished by his loving spouse, Nona Gambrell, his dear mother Barbara Gambrell, daughters Whitney Reynolds (Josh) and Megan Gambrell, grandchildren Zack Weston, Allyson Reynolds, Abby Mabe, Jayden Barton, and Alexis Girtley, brothers Tommy Gambrell and Chris Gambrell (Wendi), and by a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Gambrell, and by a sister-in-law, Stacy Gambrell.

Although Chuck is no longer with us, his legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.  Memorial visitation will be from 1 pm until 4 pm on Saturday, September 7th at Immanuel Baptist Church, 720 Browning Acres Road, Corbin, Kentucky, where his Memorial service will be held at 4pm with Pastor Dustin Rife officiating.

Let us gather to honor and remember this remarkable man who touched the lives of so many in a joyous celebration of his life. Chuck will be dearly missed but never forgotten, his spirit continuing to inspire those he left behind with memories of his kindness, warmth, and unwavering love. May his soul rest in peace.
