Charles Edwin Moore

Charles Edwin Moore, age 84, of Corbin, passed away on June 6, 2019 at the home of his daughter.
He was born on Feb. 1, 1935 in Corbin, KY to the late Homer and Thelma Powell Moore.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Flora Roe Williamson Moore in October of 1985; his grandparents, William and Linda Sears Moore and Thomas and Lona Sams Powell; father and mother in law, Rev. George R. Williamson and Ruby Carnes Williamson; sister in law, Wanda Moore;
Charles is survived by his daughter, Charlotte Moore Smith and husband Stephen; grandchildren, Alissa Sebastian Ackerman and husband Peter, Lucinda M. Smith, and Seth D. Smith; brother, Jack Allen Moore; niece, Dr. Vonda Moore, and nephews, Allen Moore and Billy Moore.
He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Corbin, First Baptist Church in Amelia, OH where he had served as a Deacon; Vandalia Baptist Church in Dayton, OH, and Red House Baptist Church in Richmond, KY.
Charles was a 1953 graduate of Lynn Camp High School, and a 1955 graduate of Cumberland College.  He served in the US Marine Corps and had worked for L&N Railroad, Penn Central Railroad, and for the Association of American Railroads where he retired from in 1993.
Visitation will be from 12noon until the time of his funeral at 1:30pm on Monday June 10, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. Brett Martin officiating.
Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery in Corbin.
