Charles Eugene Elliott

Charles "Charlie" Eugene Elliott, 69, of Corbin, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2006 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Born October 19, 1936 in Kenton County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Roy and Essie Mae Burdette Elliott. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church, actively attended the Calvary Baptist Church and retired from Johnson Paper Company in Cincinnati. He was a member and chaplain of VFW Post 1410 and was chaplain of District 7 VFW.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Juanita Paul Jaynes.
He is survived by his wife Alta Kathleen Jaynes Elliott of Corbin; five sisters, Faye Turner of Union, Kentucky, Millie Conrad of Williamstown, Kentucky, Sammie Martin & husband Charlie of Williamstown, Francis Hess of Ohio, and Brenda Rowland & husband Jerry of Georgia; one brother, Bobby Elliott of Williamstown; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, June 1, 2006 at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Roach officiating. Burial will be at Brown Cemetery on Meadow Creek in Rockholds. Full military graveside honors will be conducted by VFW Post 1410. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be members of VFW Post 1410.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 pm Wednesday, May 31, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
