Charles Jeffrey Powell

Charles Jeffrey Powell, age 43, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2022, at Baptist Health Corbin. Born in Campbell County, KY, he was the son of the late Chester Lee Powell and Lena Mae Davis Powell. Charles grew up in Newport, KY, where he had many close friends. He worked in the production line at SEKRI in Corbin. He loved his truck, cooking, playing basketball, and listening to music, especially Christian rap. Wherever he went Charles had a way of making friends and bringing joy to others. He never hesitated to share his faith or encourage those around him. Most of all, Charles cherished time with his children, family, and being at church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Lee Powell, Charlotte Barnett, Michael Powell, and Kenny Powell, grandparents, Andy Davis, Lizzie Butler, George Powell, and Edna Petrey, and father-in-law, Marcum Gray. He is survived by his wife, Brittany Powell, four children, Alex Powell, Leanna Powell, Bryson Powell, and Destanie Powell, siblings, Sharon Lawson of Olive Hill, KY, Susan Shelley of Corbin, KY, Thomas Powell of Corbin, KY, David Powell of Melbourne, KY, Renea Inman of Corbin, KY, Janie Stacey of Barbourville, KY, and Mark Powell of Corbin, KY, mother-in-law, Ora Gray, and by several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, family, and friends. Visitation will be held from 6-9pm on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at The Church of God of the Union Assembly in Corbin, KY. Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, June 16, 2022, at The Church of God of the Union Assembly in Corbin, KY, with Rev. Scott Reynolds officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery in Corbin, KY. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations to assist with expenses. Donations can be made through the Tribute Fund, in person at the funeral home, or by calling the funeral home. The Powell Family will receive a list of those that donate.
