Charles Patrick Marvel

Charles "Pat" Marvel, age 64, of Corbin, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2013, at the Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri, he was the son of the late Charles Marvel and Valeria Marvel. He had worked as a quality control inspector in the garment industry and was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Marvel; brother, Bill Marvel and wife Marti of Grand Junction, Colorado; two daughters, Elizabeth Marvel of Kansas City and Rachel Marvel of Memphis; two step-children, Scott Long of Durham, North Carolina and Michelle Gilbert of Greensboro, North Carolina; and two grandsons, Seth and Blake Gilbert.
Friends may gather at the American Legion in Corbin at 1:00 pm on Saturday, Jan. 19, before going to the Martin-Hendrickson Cemetery for a Graveside service at 2:00 pm. A Life Appreciation gathering will be held at the Legion following the graveside service.
The Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home has assisted the family.
