Charles W. Williams Jr., age 91, of Corbin, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at Baptist Health Corbin. Born in Washington, D.C. he was the son of the late Charles W. Williams, Sr. and Ruth Brunton Williams. He was also preceded in death by brother Jack Williams. Upon coming to Corbin, he made his church home at Corbin Presbyterian Church where he was currently serving as Ruling Elder. He was U.S. Army PFC, where he sang with the Chem-Tones, who were awarded first place in the Barbershop Quartet Class at the First All-Army Soldier Singing Contest. Charles is survived by his wife Susan Williams; sons Scott Williams (Judy), Jeffrey Williams (Andi), Jesse Crombie, and Jeff Costello (Deborah); sister-in-law Paula Smith; brothers-in-law Jack Cassidy (Karen), Michael Cassidy (Stephanie), Mark Cassidy (Dianne), and Richard Cassidy (Lisa); grandchildren Lauren, Matthew, Kate, C.J., Antony, and Norah; and by several nieces, nephews, and friends to mourn his passing. Due to COVID-19, all arrangements are private. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home is serving the Williams family.
