Clarence E. 'Gene' Moore

July 20, 1928 — February 22, 2009

Clarence E. "Gene" Moore, age 80, of New Lebanon, Ohio, passed away Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009. He was born in Gray, KY, on July 20, 1928. Gene was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Glenda; his parents, George and Lizzie Moore; four brothers, Calbeb, Oscar, Elmer and John; two sisters, Mary Player and Dean Parson; and one special brother-in-law, Luther Gaddis Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elsie "Beth"; two sons, Larry and wife Connie of Clear Lake, Washington, and Garry and wife Jane of New Lebanon, Ohio; three granddaughters, Amy Hegyi and husband Ryan, Abby Moore, and Nicole Burnett and husband Jory; three great-grandchildren, Adeline Hegyi, and Lorelei and Eli Burnett; a loving sister-in-law, Betty Gaddis of Gray, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
He was retired from General Motors, was a proud veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Farmersville.
Funeral services will be held at 7 pm Wed., Feb. 25, at the Rogers' Funeral Home in New Lebanon, 324 W. Main St., with Pastor Tom Vorhis officiating.
The family will receive friends Wednesday at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until the start of the Service.
Burial will be in the Gray Cemetery at Gray, KY, on Thursday, Feb. 26, with graveside services starting at 2:00 pm. Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post 1410. Local arrangements are by the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Farmersville.
