Clayton Nunn

January 8, 1922 — November 30, 2006

Clayton Nunn, age 84, of Corbin, passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2006 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin.
He was born on January 8, 1922 in Straight Creek in Bell County, Kentucky, a son to the late Cam and Grace LeFevers Nunn. He was a retired Lab Technician for U.S. Steel and a Member of the First United Methodist Church in Corbin.
Clayton was a US Army Veteran of World War II having served under both General Patton and General Bradley. He served in five major battles, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two Brothers, Clifton and Ray Nunn, and three Sisters, Lezette Vicini, Thelma Halcomb, and Lillian Wilder.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Hensley Nunn; Daughter Linda Nunn Parris and husband Lee of Knoxville, two Grandchildren, Shawn Parris, and Jennifer Joice and husband Chris all of Knoxville; one Sister, Jewell Geller of Chattanooga, TN; He is also survived by numerous Nieces, Nephews, Family and Friends who will mourn his passing.
Funeral service will be on Monday, December 4, 2006 at 11am at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Bobbby Joe Eaton and Rev. Timothy Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, with Military graveside honors by VFW Post #1410 in Corbin.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 3rd from 6-8pm at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
