Clinton D. Cogdill

Clinton D. Cogdill, 84, of Lily passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018 at The Heritage.
A native of Lee County, Virginia, he was a son of the late B. Z. and Ora Trett Cogdill.  A brother Claude Cogdill and sister Patricia Louise McDaniel also preceded him in death.
Clinton was a 43-year member of Good Hope Baptist Church and had worked at the National Standard Co. for 27 years.  Earlier he was employed at Big Bear Bakery in Columbus, Ohio.  His favorite hobby was caring for his yard at home.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Helena Hensley Cogdill;  brothers Berchil Cogdill (Ocie), Bill Cogdill (Ethel), H. K. Cogdill (Diane), Charles Cogdill (Mary), and Jerry Cogdill (Wilma);  sisters Ava Fields (Virgil) and Shirley Ellis;  a brother-in-law Hershel Hensley (Charlotte);  and many nieces and nephews.
His visitation will be Tuesday from 6 until 8 pm at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
The funeral will be held at 11 am Wednesday there with Rev. Doyle Lester officiating.
Burial will be in the Lee Memorial Gardens at Pennington Gap, Virginia.
