Cora Mae Smiddy

Cora Mae Smiddy, 96, formerly of Woodbine, passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at Sem Haven Nursing Home in Milford, Ohio.
Born April 21, 1910 in Jellico, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Linas and Mattie Vaughn Heaps. She was a homemaker and a member of Greenland Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ruben Smiddy; daughters Anna Lee Bowlin and Mattie Fay Ratliff; and son Phillip Smiddy.
She is survived by daughters Bertha Fisher and Norma Jean Matthews and husband Mike; and sons Carl Smiddy and wife Laphenia and Kenneth Smiddy and wife Ernestine. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Mills officiating. Burial will follow in the Douglas Cemetery at Jellico, Tennessee.
The family will receive friends from 10:00am until the funeral hour at 1:00 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
