Curtis W. Chandler, 91, of Corbin, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008 at his home.
He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of WWII in Italy. He was a navigator with rank of First Lieutenant, receiving several high decorations and special recognition from the French government.
Curt had been a teacher in the Corbin school system. He was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church and a life member of the VFW and American Legion in Corbin.
He is survived by his wife, Edna Thomas Chandler; two children, James A. Chandler and wife Sharon, and Coralie Callucci and husband Mike, all of Lexington; two granddaughters, Hannah and Christina; a sister, Betty Northcutt of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and two stepsons, Eldon and Larry Thomas.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm Saturday, Feb. 2, at O'Neil Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Thompson offciating.
