Daphne Rutledge, age 86, of Woodbine, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Baptist Health Corbin.
Born in Woodbine, she was the daughter of the late Edward Chester Terrell and Lucy Mae Hubbs Terrell. She worked as a quality control specialist for American Greetings and attended Little Indian Creek Baptist Church. Daphne enjoyed many hobbies including, gardening, quilting, listening to music, and socializing with friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Lee Rutledge; son, William Joe Rutledge; siblings, Charlie P. Terrell, Bonnie McKinley, and Beatrice Howard; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She is survived by three children, Lucy Rutledge, Debra Rose, and James Rose; grandchildren, Casey Smith, Daphne Rutledge, Deanna Rose, William Tyler Large, and Renee Rose-Patel; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Bobby J. Terrell and wife Nancy; and by a host of extended family and close friends.
Visitation will be held from 12-2pm on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral, where her funeral service will follow at 2pm with Rev. Randy Johnson officiating.
Following the service, she will be laid to rest in the Wells Cemetery.
