Darrell Starr Steele

Darrell Starr Steele, 86, of Corbin, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the V.A. Medical Center in Lexington.
Born in Ashland, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Dr. Starr Steele and Lora Rader Steele. He had been a bus driver for the Transit Authority River City in Louisville, and was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald H. Steele; son, Danny Steele; daughter, Sandra Steele; and step-son, David McNeil.
He is survived by his wife, Gerry McNeil Steele; step-daughter, Deborah Whitehouse and husband Roger of Richmond; step-grandson, Scott Whitehouse; and by a grandchild and two great grandchildren in California, a great granddaughter and great grandson in Iowa, and a granddaughter, a grandson, two great granddaughters and two great grandsons living in Kentucky.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Austin Carty and Rev. Paul Sims officiating. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 10:00 A.M. Monday, Nov. 30th, at the funeral home.
