Daryl Eugene Sawyers

Daryl Eugene Sawyers, age 53, of Rockholds, passed away on Thursday August 13, 2009 at his Home.
He is preceded in death by his father, Edward Sawyers.
He was a long-time employee of General Shale Brick in Woodbine, KY.
Daryl was born in Williamsburg, KY. He was a member of New Hope Community Church of Corbin, KY and a licensed pilot.
He is survived by his mother, Ethel Wells Sawyers, of Rockholds, KY; One sister, Vicki Sawyers of Corbin;One brother, Gaylon and Frances Sawyers of Dallas TX; Two uncles, Dulano (Hoss) and Eslie Sawyers of Norwood, OH and Herman and Sue Wells of Williamsburg, OH; One niece, Sarah Victoria Sawyers and two nephews Paul Edward Sawyers and Daniel Nathan Sawyers, all of Dallas TX. Also survived by 2 step nieces and one step nephew along with a host of cousins, friends and neighbors.
Daryl's family offers Special thanks to Dr. Sandesh Patil of St. Joseph - London, Dr. Michael Sekela of St Joseph - Lexington, Dr. Kelly McCants and Dr. Mark Slaughter and the Research Team of Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY.
Services will be conducted at 2pm on Monday, August 17, 2009 at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home of Corbin KY with Rev. Delmon Sizemore and Rev. Jimmie Logan officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin.
Visitation will be Sunday evening August 16th from 6-9 pm.
Pallbearers will be members of the local pilots association.
