David N. Hall

David N. Hall, age 71, of Jellico Creek, KY, passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Baptist Health Corbin. 

Born in Corbin, he was the son of the late Rev. Henry Hall and Sarah Hall. A loving father and grandfather, David was a man whose radiant presence could light up any room. He was a true mountain man, finding sanctuary and peace in the great outdoors. His adventurous spirit drew him to Jellico Creek, where he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and simply immersing himself in the beauty of nature. 

His courage and dedication were reflected not only in his passion for the wilderness but also during his service in the United States Army, where he served during the Vietnam War. David earned several medals throughout his service, a testament to his bravery and commitment. However, the achievement closest to his heart was being a father and grandfather. His memory will remain etched in the hearts of all those who knew him, his stories an enduring part of the family lore. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Hall; grandchildren, Nicholas Davenport and Jeremiah Davenport; sister, Kathy Roger; sisters-in-law, Alice Hall and Debbie Hall; baby, Ryan Hall; and nephew, Jason Perry. 

He is survived by his children, Geneva Pennington (John), Sarah Love (Robert), Christina Hampton (Shelby), and Henry Hall (Lyndsey); grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Mackenzie, Erica, Wesley, Hannah, Destiny, David, Kaylee, and Ethan; siblings, James, Della, Jack, Russell, Mary, Carol, and Steve; special family friends, Bo and Larry; and by a host of extended family and friends. 

Visitation will be held from 6-9 pm on Saturday, January 18, 2025, and from 1-2 pm on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home. His funeral service will begin at 2 pm on Sunday, at the funeral home. 

Burial will follow in Corinth Cemetery in Corbin, KY, with military honors conducted by American Legion Post #88.
