David M. Edwards, Jr.

David M. Edwards, Jr., 87, of Corbin, passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2005 at the Baptist Regional Medical Center.
Born January 22, 1918, he was the son of the late David Edwards and Mae Purcell Edwards. He retired at age 65 as an officer with First National Bank of Corbin. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Corbin, a Kentucky Colonel, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a member of VFW Post 1410 in Corbin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Juanita Edwards in 2003.
He is survived by his daughter Helen Mae Tompkins and husband Charles of Port Orange, Florida; and by grandsons Chet David Marlowe of Ocala and Derek Gerald Marlowe of Daytona Beach, Florida.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, Feb. 25, 2005 at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Lockhart officiating. Burial will follow in the Rest Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 Noon Friday until the funeral hour at 2:00 pm at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home.
