Denver Young

Denver "Doc" Lee Young, age 69, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

"Doc" was a man of many friendships, with a heart as large as the Kentucky skies he roamed. Born on September 4, 1955, in Corbin, KY, he graced the lives of those around him with his warm smile and welcoming personality. He found joy in spending time with his family and friends, embodying a spirit of camaraderie that never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Young and Wilma Martin Young; daughter, Brenda Young; and sister, Phyllis Skidmore.

Denver is survived by his son, Herb Young of Corbin; granddaughter, Taylor Young of Corbin; siblings, Wanda Poe of Corbin, Larry Young (Helen) of Crystal River, FL, Linda Jordan of Englewood, OH, and Lewis Young (Vicky) of Rockholds, KY; and by a host of friends.

Visitation will be held from 12-2 pm on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral service will follow at 2 pm.

Burial will follow at Youngs Chapel Cemetery in Corbin, KY.
