Donald B Light

Donald B. Light, age 82, of Corbin, KY, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 4, 2021 at his home in Corbin. Born in Hopkinsville, KY, he was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton Light and Mamie Hite Light; wife, Jamie Rose Light; son, Michael Dale Clifford; great grandson, Cash Cole Hart; and by a sister, Glenda Geiser. Don is survived by his wife, Carol Light; children, Donald Light Jr.(Alice), Jeffrey Light (Mary), Wendy Hart (Kelvin), and Donna Chadwell (Jeff); brother, Wayne Light; grandchildren, David Hart (Joy), Natoshia Mouser (Jody), Jennifer Myers (Jordan), Dezerie Fields (Larry), Kimberly Sawyers (Josh), Kayla Chadwell, C.J. Light (Callie), Allyson Daughterty (Samuel), Zach Chadwell, and Anthony Light; and by a host of great grandchildren. Don attended Second Baptist Church in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, and he was a long time member of Central Baptist Church in Corbin. He was also a dedicated employee of Family Dollar, where he worked for many years and retired as regional manager.
Visitation will be held form 12-1pm on Monday April 12, 2021 at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral will be held at 1pm on Monday with Pastor Josh Pollitt officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, KY with his grandsons serving as pall bearers.
