Donald Wayne Hammack

Donald Wayne Hammack, age 49, of Corbin, KY, passed away at his home on Monday, March 25, 2024.

Born in Corbin, he was the son of Donnie Ray Hammack and Janice Willis. Everything Donald did, he did with great love and passion. He had a drive to experience life to the fullest, whether meeting new people or traveling to a new destination. He had a great sense of humor and witty comments that everyone enjoyed, even if they didn't want to admit it.

To know Donald was to know his love and knowledge for trucks. A passion he learned from his grandpa, Luke, and passed on to many others. Trucking was more than an occupation for Donald, it allowed him to travel the world and meet many people. When he was back home, he could be found watching U.K. basketball, football, or NASCAR races. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time on the lake. Most of all, Donald loved his family, especially his children, he cherished every moment spent with them.

Donald will be deeply missed, but comfort can be found in knowing that he is now in his eternal home. He is surely traveling all over his new home and has quickly become the new jokester. Hopefully, he is spending his time at the beach, a place he longed to return, waiting on us.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donnie Ray Hammack; grandparents, Luther "Luke" Willis and Frances Willis; Uncles, Eugene Willis and Jim Maxwell; and father-in-law, Jay Logan.

Donald is survived by his loving wife, Chasity Adams Hammack; children, Austin, Destiny, Miley, and Weston; mother, Janice Willis; brother, Chris Hammack and wife Alisha; special uncle, Wayne Willis; four nephews, Zayne, Cole, and Lucas Hammack, and Gavin Gray; two nieces, Rachel Howard and Lauren Gray; mother-in-law, Peggy Logan; father-in-law, Steve Adams; and sisters-in-law, Keisha Gray (Hubert) and Alisha Howard (Randall).

Visitation will be held from 6-9 pm on Friday, March 29, 2024, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home and from 2-3 pm on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at the funeral home.

His funeral service will begin at 3 pm on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home with Rev. Josh Pollitt and Rev. Jack Willis officiating.

Following the service, he will be laid to rest at Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin, KY.
