Doris E. Walker

On Tuesday, January 17, Doris Evelyn Rains Walker, known to many as Miss Doris, or Nanna to those closest to her, passed away and entered her heavenly home.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She devoted most of her life to the church and sharing her love of singing with others.

She was born December 4, 1945, in Williamsburg, Ky and raised in Harlan, Ky by Jesse Wallace, the late Lois Wallace, Momma Hester, and Duncan Rains, where she met the love of her life Herschel Walker. The two married March 16, 1963, and celebrated almost 60 years together.

She is survived by two daughters: Darla (Tony) Moses and Marla (Todd) Berry. Four grandchildren: Andy (Cindy) Moses, Corey (Lillie) Moses, Megan (Matt) Beuligmann, and Matthew Berry. Four great grandchildren: McKinley Moses, Hadley Moses, Lakelyn Beuligmann, and her namesake Evelyn Joy Beuligmann, and by a host of relatives and friends.

Friends and family are invited to join in the celebration of the life of Miss Doris on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 787 Oak Grove Church Road, Corbin, Ky.

Visitation will be from 2 until 6 followed by a celebration service.
