Dorsey Junior King

Elder Dorsey Junior King, age 78, of Lily, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at his home.

Born in Harlan Kentucky, Dorsey was a US Army veteran, having served in Europe during the Vietnam Era.  He was a retired over the road truck driver and was the pastor at Oak Ridge United Baptist Church in Corbin, Kentucky.

Dorsey was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Goff King and Julia Spurlock King, and by his siblings, Ailene Davidson, Farris King, Faye Stogsdill, Lydia Hill, Helen Prewitt, Kenneth King, Charles King, and Lee Vernon King.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Cundiff King, children, Wendy Armstrong (Elliott), Dorsey Junior King II (Melanie), and Jennifer Bunch (Jay), grandchildren, Jarred Armstrong, Addison Bunch, and Josie Bunch, great grandchildren, Kenneth, Elana, Bella, and Zoey, sisters, Ardella Jones and JoAnn Flannigan (Carlos), and by several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Visitation for Dorsey King will be held from 5-7pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where his funeral will be held at 7pm with Elder Freddie Harris and Elder Lonnie Messer officiating.

Graveside service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, KY with military honors.
